Please join us for lunch on March 6th to welcome the Newark Museum Speakers Bureau and their amazing presentation of “Seeing America,” one of the finest and most comprehensive American art collections in the the United States. “Seeing America” examines the powerful impact that artists have had on shaping American culture and identity.

The slide presentation is a detailed overview of the collection , which covers the work of artists who interpreted the people, culture, and tenor of their times: from United States Native American art to original colonial portraits and folk art, through the Hudson River landscape period of the 19th century to today’s contemporary works.

There will be more than 60 distinct pieces of art examined in the presentation.  Featured artists include John Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, Mary Cassatt, Edward Hooper, Georgia O’Keeffe, Romare Bearden, Joseph Stella, Andy Warhol, And George Sega among many others.
